SHU FA  (Chinese Calligraphy)


SHU FA is an art of writing Chinese characters which has developed over many centuries in China. SHU FA is a unique cultural resource that China can contribute to the cultural diversity of today's world.
 
Japan and South Korea have seen calligraphy as the cradle of art and have been promoting the healthy development of calligraphy.

Calligrapher is regarded as an artist, their artwork can be found in places like museum, exhibition and auction hall. Good work of ancient or today calligraphers are searched by collectors around the world.

Chinese character

A Chinese character or Han character is a logogram used in writing Chinese, Japanese, sometimes Korean, and formerly Vietnamese.

The number of Chinese characters contained in dictionary is approximately 63,000.

Written styles
There are numerous styles, or scripts, in which Chinese characters can be written, deriving from various calligraphic and historical models. These characters were used over 3,000 years ago.

A Chinese character, Han character or Hanzi is a logogram used in writing Chinese , Japanese , rarely Korean , and formerly Vietnamese . The number of Chinese characters contained in the Kangxi dictionary is approximately 47,035, although a large number of these are rarely used variants accumulated throughout history.

"Shu Fa" or calligraphy, commonly known as brush calligraphy, is an art unique to Asian cultures. The word “Shu” which means calligraphy, is one of the four basic skills and disciplines of the Chinese literati. The others are the “Hua” (painting), “Qin” (a string musical instrument), and “Qi” (a strategic board game).
